Health Insurance Marketplace

Know what health coverage will really cost you.

Many people qualify for financial help that lowers the monthly premium.

Self-employed, between jobs, working part-time, or losing your coverage? I'll show you the plans available where you live, whether you qualify for savings, and what you would actually pay.

Compare plans and enroll online — and if you get stuck, I can open your application and finish it with you. Or book a call and we'll go through it together from the start.

Three steps, no pressure

1

Tell me about your household

Who needs coverage and a ballpark income for the year. That's what determines your savings. About 60 seconds.

2

See your plans and prices

Compare what's available in your county, see any financial help you qualify for, and enroll online if you're ready.

3

You're never stuck

Hit a wall partway through? Because it all runs under my link, I can open your application and finish the enrollment with you. Or book a call and we'll go through it together from the start.

Marketplace coverage is built for people without a group plan

When can you enroll?

Open Enrollment

November 1 – December 15

Anyone can enroll or switch plans during this window, and coverage starts January 1.

This window is shorter than it used to be. It ended January 15 in past years. It now closes December 15 — 45 days instead of 75. Miss it and you generally wait a full year.

Special Enrollment

Right now, if your coverage changed

You may be able to enroll today if you:

  • Lost Medicaid — including losing it at renewal or redetermination
  • Lost job-based coverage, or are about to
  • Moved to a new county or state
  • Got married or divorced
  • Had a baby or adopted
  • Turned 26 and came off a parent's plan

These windows are usually 60 days from the event, so don't wait to find out. Call or text 414-312-5434 and I'll tell you in a few minutes whether you qualify.

Short Term Medical can bridge the gap

If Open Enrollment has closed and nothing on the list above applies to you, a short term medical plan can cover you until the next window opens.

Understand the tradeoffs before you consider one. Short term plans are not Marketplace coverage. They are not required to cover pre-existing conditions or essential health benefits like maternity care and prescription drugs, you can be turned down based on your health history, and no financial help applies. They are a bridge, not a replacement — and for most people who qualify for a Marketplace plan, the Marketplace plan is the better deal.

Whether one makes sense depends on your health, your budget and how long the gap is. That's a conversation, not a web form.
